Brandborg-Pinot-Gris

Brandborg Pinot Gris

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Excellent wine from higher altitude vineyards in a cool, coastal climate terroir. The soils of the Pinot Gris are born of the Umpqua River, windblown river sediments, called appropriately windy gap.
  • Brandborg is committed to sustainable farming and winemaking practices.

Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Gris

Elaboration: The Brandborg Pinot Gris is from two Elkton Oregon AVA vineyards. Elk Valley Vineyard is on a west facing slope 2 miles south east of the winery and some of the grapes are sourced from the Anindor Vineyard, on a west facing bench 3 miles east of Brandborg Winery. The soils of both are born of the Umpqua river, windblown river sediments, called appropriately windy gap.

Tasting Notes: The aromas are dominated by the scents of summer, with ripe white peach, kiwi, lemon zest and floral hibiscus notes. These flavors in the mouth are complimented by crisp green apples.
