WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The use of French and American oak barrels produces a wine of great texture and balance unique to wines at this price-point.

Varietal Composition: 45% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 20% Carignan

Elaboration: Destemming, separate vinification for each variety. Fermentation at 77 °F. 8 to 12 days with skin contact for the Carignan and Syrah, 10 to 18 days for the Grenache. Only free-run juice is used, as well as, the first press. This process is extremely geared to a maximum fruit, aromas and softness preservation, while using only natural and mechanical process. Blending is done in November The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats for 60% of the blend and in French and American oak barrels for 40% of the blend for at least 4 months before being bottled.

Tasting Notes: Light garnet red with purple tints in color. Complex with plum, raspberry and garrigue notes evolving towards soft spices aromas. Fruity, rich and round. Smooth and well-balanced finishing on fresh licorice notes.

Jean-Claude Mas, founder of Domaines Paul Mas in 2000, has launched a complete range under his own name, wines with true Languedoc character, a sense of place, a history, but most important of all, these are fine wines made to give the utmost pleasure to the drinker. These wines represent the diversity of terroirs within the same appellation and also the essence of each traditional appellation in the Languedoc.
