Mas des Mas Minervois

Mas des Mas Minervois

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • With structured tannins and a modern fruit driven style, this wine represents the diversity of soils within the Minervois.
  • Long aging potential of 6 to 10 years if stored properly.

Varietal Composition: 40% Syrah, 30% Carignan, 30% Grenache

Elaboration: Traditional vinification for Syrah and Grenache. Maceration during 20 days. Carbonic maceration for the Carignan. The blending is made at the end of the malolactic fermentation and 40% of the wine is then aged in American oak barrels during 10 months

Tasting Notes: Spicy and peppery notes which bring a nice fresh feeling, with red fruits. The mouth is full, very smooth, with rich tannins. Long aromatic finish on peppery spices and wild herbs notes, in a modern fruit driven style.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Jean-Claude Mas, founder of Domaines Paul Mas in 2000, has launched a complete range under his own name, wines with true Languedoc character, a sense of place, a history, but most important of all, these are fine wines made to give the utmost pleasure to the drinker. These wines represent the diversity of terroirs within the same appellation and also the essence of each traditional appellation in the Languedoc. They are a fusion between the tradition of winemaking and the new approach to wine, embodied by Jean-Claude Mas. Mas des Mas is an invitation to journey into the heart of the main crus and appellations of the Languedoc.
