Domaine Anita Fleurie Moriers

Domaine Anita Fleurie Les Moriers

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Despite its young age, this vine offers, thanks to hard work, the grace of a grand cru.
  • Grapes are hand harvested, carefully selected, and Domaine Anita uses sustainable viticulture practices.

Varietal Composition: 100% Gamay

Elaboration: Lieu dit Les Moriers, located on the village of Fleurie, has sandy granitic soils with an East exposure.

Grown at high altitude (230 meters), this Gamay vineyard is 6 years old and the planting density is 9,000 foot/ha. Using the Gobelet training system (two canes – 3 eyes per cane), the grapes are harvested and sorted manually. Vintification is 100% whole cluster and the semi-carbonic maceration is 11 days. Aging takes place in cement tanks for 6 months and the wine remains for approximately 3 months in bottle before it is released.

Tasting Notes: Les Moriers has always been one of the most famous terroirs of Fleurie. Its granite soil yields a wine with floral and spicy aromas from its birth. On the palate, this cuvée develops tannins of incredible flavor and finesse.
