Século Bierzo Mencia
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Estate grown and bottled.
- The vineyards are located in the D.O. of Bierzo where the diurnal temperature shifts are greatly pronounced with hot, dry summers followed by sharp, cold winters. This places enough stress on the vines to ensure a healthy and ripe harvest.
Varietal Composition: 100% Mencia
Elaboration: The fruit is manually harvested. Fermentation occurs in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 3 months in French and American oak barrels before bottling.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby color, with ripe blackberry and blueberry aromas. Beautifully balanced smokey cedar oak notes. These red fruit notes transpire onto a silky smooth, juicy, herbal rounded palate.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Vinos de Arganza turned into a family business when it was bought by long-time wine industry professional, Víctor Robla and his wife Ángeles Varela, who can trace her own family’s wine-making history to this region over 500 years ago. With a long tradition of producing wine in Bierzo, it only made sense that their children transition into the family business. Today, Vinos de Arganza relies on their terroir and traditional know-how, combined with current technological advances to improve their wine making process with a commitment to quality and value!
